Catherine Apaloo, MD, will join Intealth as Senior Vice President and Chief IMG Experience Officer in November 2025.<\/p><\/div>\n

IntealthTM<\/sup> is proud to announce the appointment of Catherine Apaloo, MD, as the organization\u2019s first Senior Vice President and Chief IMG Experience Officer<\/strong>, a newly created executive leadership role dedicated to advancing the experience of international medical graduates (IMGs) throughout their entire professional journey, from medical school through residency, practice, and leadership, both in the United States and around the world.<\/p>\n

Dr. Apaloo brings more than two decades of clinical, academic, and administrative leadership to the role, along with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing IMGs. As an internist and former Program Director and Designated Institutional Official (DIO) with national experience in graduate medical education, she has long been a champion for equitable access to training, support, and opportunity for aspiring physicians from around the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cIntealth exists to support high-quality, safe health care by supporting the education, training, and readiness of international physicians,\u201d said Dr. Eric Holmboe, President and CEO of Intealth. \u201cWith the creation of the Chief IMG Experience Officer role, and with Dr. Apaloo\u2019s leadership, we are strengthening our commitment to ensuring that every international medical graduate we serve has a clear and supported path forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Intealth, through its divisions ECFMG\u00ae<\/sup> and FAIMER\u00ae<\/sup>, provides certification, research, and support services to thousands of international physicians and medical educators worldwide. This new role reflects the organization\u2019s evolving focus on providing an integrated, end-to-end experience for IMGs, from early career planning through residency, practice, and beyond.<\/p>\n

Dr. Apaloo will lead cross-functional initiatives to improve IMG engagement, streamline interactions, and elevate the voices of international physicians in shaping the future of health care. Her work will span digital transformation, policy development, advocacy, and service design to create a more responsive, human-centered experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am honored to step into this role at such a pivotal moment for the international medical community,\u201d said Dr. Apaloo. \u201cIMGs are essential to the U.S. health care system, and I look forward to working alongside the incredible team at Intealth to ensure they are seen, supported, and empowered every step of the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

This appointment is the first of its kind in the U.S. health care and education sector and marks a significant milestone in Intealth\u2019s strategic vision to be a global leader in advancing health care through excellence in physician evaluation and education.
