Intealth™ is pleased to share that the 2025 Intealth Well-being Grant Opportunity is open for submissions through September 8, 2025. This annual program, now in its third year, invites proposals led by J-1 exchange visitor physicians for projects that support the wellness of foreign national physicians training in graduate medical education (GME) programs across the United States.
Three grants of up to US$5,000 each will be awarded to innovative projects that address specific challenges faced by foreign national physicians in training. Awardees will be featured on the Intealth website, present their work in a virtual session with Intealth staff, and meet virtually with the Intealth Board of Trustees, along with additional engagement opportunities. Intealth launched the Well-being Grant Opportunity in 2023 to support physician-led initiatives that improve the well-being of international medical graduates (IMGs). Past projects have built wellness curricula, strengthened IMG mentorship and peer connectivity, created community-building events, and developed practical tools for transition into U.S. training environments.
Foreign national physician residents and fellows provide critical health care services and add cultural diversity to training hospitals nationwide, while also navigating unique challenges such as adapting to a new health care system and culture. This grant initiative is one way in which Intealth seeks to promote their well-being and foster successful clinical and cultural exchange, ensuring positive outcomes for both physicians and the patients they serve.
