Intealth® Board Elects New Trustees for 2026

Intealth has appointed two new members to serve on its Board of Trustees. The new trustees, whose terms will begin in January 2026, are David V. Evans, MD, of the University of Washington School of Medicine, and Diane L. Gorgas, MD, of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Their selection follows an open call for nominations that concluded in July.

“Intealth continues to evolve to meet the needs of the international medical community and the U.S. health care system it serves,” said Craig Brater, MD, Chair-Elect of the Intealth Board of Trustees. “Dr. Evans and Dr. Gorgas bring deep experience in medical education, training, and assessment. Their perspectives will further strengthen our Board and help advance Intealth’s commitment to quality in health care education worldwide.”

This year also marks the conclusion of service for three longtime trustees: Peter Buckley, MD, current Chair of the Intealth Board (2024–2025) and Chancellor for the Health Sciences at the University of Tennessee; Francis (Frank) Counselman, MD, CPE, recently retired from Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he served as Vice Dean for Graduate Medical Education; and Thomas Norris, MD, Professor and Chair Emeritus of Family Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Each joined the Intealth Board in 2017 and played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s strategy and governance through a period of significant transformation.

“Each of these individuals has left an indelible mark on Intealth,” Dr. Brater said. “Dr. Buckley’s leadership as Chair has guided the organization through a time of extraordinary change, advancing key initiatives and strengthening its foundation for the future. Drs. Counselman and Norris have likewise contributed invaluable insight and dedication. We are deeply grateful for their service.”
